Project Statement
The Gray Area, an integral part of the Hawthorn Contemporary Gallery, is an exhibition space dedicated to showcasing emerging artists in Milwaukee. The gallery hosted an exhibition centered around creatively interpreting homonyms and homophones as prompts for artistic inspiration. The challenge presented was to design a compelling 12x18 poster for widespread distribution across Milwaukee and to create engaging social media posts for The Gray Area's official Instagram account. The entire project had to be completed within a tight one-week deadline to facilitate printing and allow sufficient time for exhibition promotion.

Creation of Work
I would contact the head gallery director directly to produce the posters and social media posts to make revisions to a 12x18 poster. There was a quick turnaround in producing the exhibition title and poster design. The hierarchy and harmony of the poster were of the utmost importance and were revised three times to the requirements of the gallery director. The poster's layout was changed rapidly before the printing timeline to the final version. The social media post would use elements from the poster to utilize Instagram’s 1x1 aspect ratio posts. The required promotional material was promoted on time to promote the short-term exhibition.
